Yeah you probably don't need those kind of seats.

All things considered that’s not a bad price! If there is no rust that is

That totally defeats the purpose of having a van

Also you don’t need racing buckets in a Vanagon without some major engine modifications.

I like the color too. I have always wanted one of those early 90's Vanagons to have for my weekend surfin safari trips. Plus I am sure you could easily sell those seats to the speed racer crowd

But with those seats and a proper harness, you’re in much better shape in the event of a rollover!

..its got a few quirks

The stock 2.1 and an automatic are two of them. :)

Needs an AC evaporator? I don’t even know if those are available anymore.

At least the breaks have been bled.

Bingo. I've spent enough time in the back of a Vanagon that I would want this level of protection, especially if the typical Vanagon owner was driving at the time. #wakeandbake

Actually, it’s quite the opposite - having bucket seats and a harness without a rollcage is more likely to kill you in a crash than not having them. If you are strapped into a bucket seat and the roof bends in a rollover, your head will become the main supporting structure for the whole vehicle (helpful tip - that is not going to end well), as you literally have nowhere to go due to the seat.
With a regular seat and a three point harness, however, you will slide out of the seat sideways and/or the seat itself will collapse in such a scenario, possibly saving your life

Good call, I hadn't ever thought about it that way...

Fair enough. Next step? Roll cage.

I’d be very surprised if any parts were hard to get ... man.

Thanks for expanding on that - I should’ve said “properly installed harness and cage” rather than just “proper harness"
